Hakomi Therapy November Training 2020
November 25th-29th Wednesday-Sunday  Inclusive

Hakomi Ireland offers open multi-level training since  February 2017. Multilevel training means Hakomi Introduction and Levels 1, 2 & 3 are all in one workshop. Everybody learns at own level in a group of many levels. Learning Hakomi occurs through deepening into the Hakomi principles and state-of-being. The content of the workshop is carefully structured to support all skill levels. All  levels of Hakomi experience and skill are welcome. Anybody wishing to have an introduction of Hakomi can come along to any workshop. Individuals wishing to start the full Hakomi training may attend.  People who have had some Hakomi experience and have already partly completed a Hakomi training are also welcome. For those focused on certification all trainings will include deepening skills and refinement of the method.

Who can attend?

Anyone who has an interest in understanding themselves and others and in working with present mind-body experience can benefit from this training. Note that this is experiential training with a requirement to self-study.

Anyone in the healing professions—psychotherapists, counsellors, social workers, allopathic and naturopathic physicians and nurses, homeopaths, body-centered practitioners, and people in care-giving situations—will find within this method techniques to enhance their practice. This training is an ideal add-on for professional development.

The format is 3 * 5 day trainings for 3 years. After completion of 45 days training, a certification of completed Hakomi training will be issued. The training is valuable for developing skills that are applicable in many contexts. Should you however wish to practice as a Certified HEN Hakomi practitioner you will need to complete the certification process. This involves providing evidence of competency in the form of self-critiqued videos of Hakomi sessions.

May 2020 Online training

Hakomi Ireland May Training Online

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn to do Hakomi online. In our global community many Hakomi practitioners have already been doing some online sessions with their clients. It makes sense that this be part of the basic Hakomi training. Even though we work a lot with physical contact in Hakomi, with a bit of creative modification, we can also comfortably use the method remotely. Now, out of the situation in which we all find ourselves, a creative impulse has been sparked to explore Hakomi for online use.

This online Hakomi Course will count as Hakomi training days.

What you can expect

Training in how to use Hakomi online.
Learning to track another person on a screen with only a head and shoulders visible.
Creating Hakomi experiments online.
Working with physical, embodied and touch experiments remotely.
Doing distance ‘nourishment’ and ‘Missing Experience’.
Developing a wider range in working with Hakomi.

What Zoom offers

Whole group is able to meet with everyone visible to each other on a shared screen.
 Interactive collective learning and discussion.

Anger Workshop

Uncover and discover your beliefs and patterns surrounding anger

with Sabine Volkmann and Denis Ryan

This workshop will offer space for self-discovery and exploration surrounding our unconscious beliefs around anger. Working with a combination of the Hakomi Method and a Biodynamic approach, the workshop’s foundation will be based on mindfulness and somatic awareness and experience.

In the workshop, we will use a range of exercises and exploratory experiments to give space for the adaptive unconscious to unearth how we are organized around the idea of anger and how this presents itself in our lives.

Sabine Volkmann has practiced the Feldenkrais Method for 25 years and the Hakomi Method for more than 10 years. She uses both methods to help people to explore their physical, emotional or mental habits that are in the way of living with ease and expressing themselves more fully.

Denis Ryan is a Biodynamic and Integrative Psychotherapist and a certified Shamanic Practitioner. He has explored mindfulness practises and techniqes for 15 years. His practice is based in Dublin 2, where he uses a range of techniques to support clients towards wellness and wholeness.

Nourished by Life

By Sabine Volkmann  Saturday & Sunday, 28 & 29 March

Our lives seem to get fuller and busier. More and more people are feeling the strain and stress affecting their well-being, complaining of burn-out and lack of energy. How can we sustain ourselves with the increasing demands and stresses in our lives? The Hakomi Method offers a simple antidote: Taking in the nourishment and beauty that is potentially always around us – being touched by another person, inspired by connection, nourished by life itself. What gets in our way of doing this are our unconcious deep seated habits of relating, i.e. fear, lack of safety or control.

In this workshop we will use mindfulness and simple exercises to discover our unconscious beliefs around being nourished and relating to others. You will experience more space and softness for yourself, a compassionate and loving state of mind, and a greater understanding of how to maintain this way of being in everyday life.

This is a multilevel workshop. New and experienced people are welcome. It greatly benefits everybody who works in the therapy or healthcare profession or generally is interested in learning more about themselves. This workshop counts as training days.

Time: Saturday 10am – 5.30pm, Sunday 1pm – 7pmVenue: 26 Longford Terrace, Monkstown, Co. DublinCost: €200, Early Bird: €180 (non-refundable), when booked and paid before 1st March

Hakomi Community and Practice Weekend

Hakomi Community and Practice Weekend

(facilitated by Sabine Volkmann)

Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th September

Last month I was participating in the first 5 day Hakomi residential workshop in England. I returned feeling very nourished and I was inspired by the experience of a Hakomi community. Out of that arose the idea of offering a Hakomi weekend to bring us together as a community, to practice and to experience the method.

There are quite a few experienced Hakomi people who are working towards certification or who just would like to practice giving sessions. On the other hand there is a new training that has just started this year in Ireland with people who might not have experienced getting a full Hakomi session or seeing how sessions unfold.

My idea of the weekend is to do some Hakomi practices to start with, to connect with each other and to settle us into loving presence. After that there will be space to do sessions. Experienced people can do whole sessions or sessions with supprt in whatever way they need and new people can experience being clients and assist. We will also have a camera to record sessions. There also will be space to discuss and to hang out and to hopefully have a really good time together.

As I write this I get very excited and I already look forward to spending two days in the Hakomi spirit with whover can make it.

Signed; Sabine
